Hood River is an amazing community. As a racer, you will come to love our trails, meet local volunteers out on the course, as well as partake in local businesses prizing you out upon finishing... with your DESTINY redemption card! This is a CUP-LESS race! All racers must carry water bottle (24 oz min., or hydration pack.
Due to the fact, our backyard MASTER PLAN trail network of Post Canyon is located on a BIG TREE FARM, the course could change at any given moment. Meaning if there is a salvage harvest, a sale that just took place, a harvest that goes over the sale time-line etc, we have to re-route the course. THUS, we will provide you with the gist, in turn by turns and general elevation gain. HOWEVER, at this moment, we can assure you, both courses are TOUGH! Racers will start on semi flat terrain and dip down, back up, some down, and make A LOT OF TURNS! The courses will be have marking tape, chalk spray, and signage at points that the half goes one direction and the 50k goes another. TRAIL TREAD shoes are HIGHLY ADVISED. There will be hard packed sections, lush sections, dry dusty ball bearing slippery sections, views you should just STOP and stare at, rocky sections we will call the BOULDERS OF HELL, one hill in the 50k, you will need to ask for 10 fingers, or use the stump to get up the hike on the ridge line called Antoine's. Both races have some dainty, with a BIG ROBUST blend of GNAR GNAR, that will likely have you question your sanity. For surely the courses are diverse and adventurous with a good amount of down, up, level, back up bunch of trail dancing. You want to be hyper aware of your footing and aware of other user groups out on the trail. If this were easy, you would be at DisneyLand riding "It's a Small World." So come enjoy the EPIC invigorating, mind, body, and soul igniting ADVENTURE! And congrats, you're all wild animal champions of Mother Nature, ready to take on Post Canyon!
